Safety
Aquifer Solutions received a written commendation from the safety group at a U.S. DOE facility, where we performed as a design-build prime contractor.
“To our knowledge this is the first time a project of this magnitude was completed without a single safety violation. We performed 24 site inspections and documented 733 items that were performed safely. It was very evident that Aquifer Solutions performed the necessary research and engineered the process to maintain a top level of safety at their job site. From the moment the job began to the completion of the project the contractor stressed safety to their employees and subcontractors and did not leave one stone unturned, so to speak. This project serves as an excellent example to all subcontractors of how well Integrated Safety Management process works.” – U.S. DOE Facility Construction Safety Manager
Since Aquifer Solutions excels within the U.S. Department of Energy safety paradigm, just imagine the value we can bring to your project through our attention to safety!
Aquifer Solutions has a company history of 100% zero-accident performance with over 75,000 hours worked!
Our safety program success is founded on a bottoms-up safety culture and on a supportive set of policies and procedures. Our culture is based on a perspective that safety management is an opportunity for excellence, not a burden. We have taken an innovative approach to safety management that empowers and involves all of our employees and our subcontractors as part of the safety management process.
Aquifer Solutions has adopted the Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), which was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy. ISMS is an iterative process involving work scope definition, hazard analysis, development and implementation of controls, and especially continuous feedback and improvement based on lessons learned. The ISMS approach is a disciplined process that provides a proven framework for safe work performance.
Aquifer Solutions is highly committed to ensuring that all workers are provided with a safe work environment. We are committed to meeting health and safety regulatory requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), as well as committed to being industry leaders in maintaining a zero-accident workplace.
Our safety program is based on a number of innovative principals, including:
- Engage field staff day to day to establish a culture of safety and situational awareness.
- Develop the means to capture the safety experience of field staff and disseminate best practices amongst company and subcontractor personnel.
- Establish a communications program that approaches safety from many different angles to maximize impact at the staff level and produce results.
- Engage subcontractor management personnel to flow down the value of safety through all levels of the project team.
Our safety management process is closely integrated with our engineering, procurement, and QA/QC programs. We start planning for safe conduct of work at the front-end of the process, and continuously evaluate safety with each step of the work flow.
